Membership

Email membership@dunwoodygarden.org to inquire about availability of a plot or to get on our waiting list.  We maintain a first-come-first-served waiting list when no garden memberships are available.

Dues are $60 annually.  Annual dues are renewable on February 1.  We pro-rate dues for new members on a monthly basis.   Members have access to a 4 x 8-foot plot.  You must plant within 30 days after receiving your plot assignment.  Dues are nonrefundable.

Members must adhere to our bylaws and abide by these membership guidelines. When you join, you’ll also be asked to sign a membership agreement.  Here are a few important highlights about our garden:

  1. We use ORGANIC practices. You must use organic soil, fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides, etc. The only exception, due to local market conditions, is that members may use conventional seeds and transplants, although when they’re available, organic seeds and transplants are preferred. If you build a raised wooden bed, you must use UNTREATED wood.
  2. We require YEAR-ROUND CULTIVATION. You must keep your plot and the area around it well-tended.  If you’re not growing a crop or ornamentals, you must plant a cover crop.  Our climate is great for cool season gardening and many of our members grow fall and winter crops.  You really can grow food year-round in Georgia.
  3. Members VOLUNTEER TIME towards general garden upkeep and garden projects. We strongly encourage all members to join a committee or a garden team.
