New Board: The current board appointed two members, Muriel Knope and Ann DoVanQuy to fill the open director positions due to their heavy involvement in garden projects and community building efforts within the garden. Jimmy Jones and Nicole Maslanka also showed interest in the board positions and board members expressed hope that they would consider running for a position in the fall. Muriel and Ann were appointed by the board to fill empty slots, so their terms expire September 1st, at which time, they may seek re-election.
Plant Sale. The board approved April 15 and April 16 as the spring plant sale dates at the greenhouse. All money raised by the plant sale will go to the garden, and a portion of those funds will be allocated for use by the greenhouse team for their projects. Rebecca will contact the city to request approval for those dates and to complete any necessary paperwork.
Master Plan. The board hopes that the garden will remain in its current location. They discussed benefits and negative impacts of relocation.
Greenhouse Use. The Dunwoody Nature Center expressed interest in sharing greenhouse space, so Don will contact the DNC to put them in contact with Diana Wood, our greenhouse team leader.
Veggie Garden Tour. The board discussed the possibility of organizing a small Dunwoody Vegetable Garden tour sometime this year.
Coffee/Potluck. The board discussed the idea of organizing a potluck or coffee social for members this winter.
Membership Dues. The board discussed the fact that membership dues must be paid by March 1st for the 2011-2012 year and that the budget needs to be created for the new year at the next board meeting.
Tentative Next Meeting: Feb 17 at 3:00 – 4:30 at Rod’s house.
